It turns out that instilling trust is more critical to the development of an organization than suggested. In our extensive experience as management consultants, we’ve helped challenge some of the issues organizations continue to struggle with, such as customer loyalty, teamwork, transformative leadership, and meaningful meetings.
The products of deteriorating leadership.
Incubated personal fears accelerate complicated conflicts and bottlenecks. Approaching our concerns cloaked as organizational problems require transparency and to use the overused word “vulnerability.”
Generally, the false presumption is that confidence is the correct measurement of leadership, especially in this redefining era of COVID -19. Leaders ignore reality to “put on a brave self-assuring face designed to persuade customers, employees, management, and team members that they are the Great and Powerful Oz with all the answers. Their continuing existence, at least in their eyes a need to evade the “truth” for telling people what they need to hear. Essentially, the behaviors of senior managers reduced the efficacy of Nokia.
This behavior becomes imitated by other managers and employees, leading to motivations of fear and selfishness. Unsurprisingly, the urgency of resolving mounting conflicts and problem-solving that could lead to progress are subordinate to political posturing—creating additional layers of protective silos and bureaucracy, making it difficult to get the right things done at the right time.
